In Search of Oldton

Here we are at Cliff Close, with its neat row of houses, as depicted in one of my many photos of Oldton dogs.

I also have a shot of it taken from a boat far out at sea. In that photo most of the houses have already fallen into the sea.

Cliff Close was a popular place to retire to, and was definitely somewhere my dad might have had his eye on for two reasons: one, he would be able to watch over the sea with his binoculars; two, the local brewery with its off-sales shop operated out of the building at the end of the road.

I'm placing Surrey's dad here too on a balcony with a 'lagoon of gin' as the sun goes down.
