The road sign points you back to the village green. Stay on the old road and you come to the cliffs.

On the green you'll find the Owlstone bowls club and another building which used to be the village hall in Phil's youth, but then became the Gucci pizzeria.

Around the green are a smattering of traditional country houses. The short video clip in my possession captures the quaint rural setting - and also the buzz of a small plane, which has presumably just taken off from the airfield.

It reminds me for a moment of the scene in 'Goldfinger' where Pussy Galore sprays Fort Knox with knock-out gas from her plane and everyone below suddenly slumps to the floor. I suspect, though, that Oldton dozed off more slowly than that.
